The Martian is a free-standing sculpture standing in the middle of Woking.
In case you're wondering why we have a Martian standing in the middle of town it's here because the HG Wells book War of the Worlds was set here. In case you're wondering why the blue tone, I deliberately set the white balance to Tungsten to shift the colour balance of the image towards blue. |
Detail of The Lightbox, Woking's biggest art gallery. It's known colloquially as a number of things, but I think The Shoebox is probably one of the better ones ;)
The patterns on the tiles are shadows cast by trees in the surrounding area. |
The Martian, front on. I think it would be really cool if they put a couple of red lasers in the pod, and fired them on misty/foggy days. Particularly if they tracked people walking along ;)

Veg box from Secretts. This was a particularly full one! Details in the notes if you're interested!
